Targeted Training and Apprenticeships Fund

12 June 2020.

As part of Budget 2020, the Government has announced a Targeted Trades and Apprenticeships Fund (TTAF). StudyLink are working with the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) on the implementation of the fund and fee refund processes.

TEC is still deciding which courses will be fully funded. Funding will be focused on courses that respond to the impacts of COVID-19 and are in demand by employers.

Our contact centres are already answering calls from students, who are keen to know whether they qualify for the TTAF. We're advising students to contact their training provider or TEC for more details about this fund.

Please note: Students studying a SAC funded qualification can still get a Student Loan for non-tuition components (eg. course-related and living costs), and/or Student Allowance (provided they meet all other eligibility and entitlement criteria).

We'll have more information about the courses covered by the TTAF closer to 1 July 2020.
