Getting ready for 2018

Our call to action campaign encouraging students to apply for their 2018 student finance is now underway and there are lots of ways you can help.
This year we're encouraging students to Just Start, by applying by 16 December.
This approach allows us to manage the volume of applications in order to help students get organised for the start of the new study year, which also benefits education providers by getting fee payments made earlier.
Phase 1
The campaign launches on 1 October. You'll see it on and around major campuses and transport hubs, and online - with banner advertising on targeted websites and animated videos on TV/Video On Demand services.
We'll also be running our direct marketing emails to current tertiary students, with the first being sent on Tuesday 3 October.
Phase 2
In December all digital material will be updated to show an increase in urgency in the final two weeks before 16 December.
We'll send two more emails during this time to students who haven't yet applied for 2018 and we'll also have some advertising on radio.
Phase 3
After 16 December we'll email any sutdents who still haven't applied to give them one last hurry along.
At this point they haven't missed out but we can't guarantee they've got time to get everything sorted ready for the start of their study.
We'll continue to have online advertising through to the end of January.
How you can help
Your help to spread the message is a big contributor to our success.
We've produced some material that will help you do this easily, such as:
- text to use on your website and in e-newsletters
- images in a range of sizes for you to use on your website and in emails
- images in common screen resolutions that can be used as screensavers or wallpapers in libraries or computer suites.

Just Start – Apply 16 December
It might feel like sorting your Student Allowance or Student Loan for 2018 is a big job, but it doesn't have to be.
For now, you just need to get started and apply by 16 December.
Around 180,000 students will need to get organised for study in 2018. Apply by 16 December to give yourself the best chance of having everything sorted ready for the start of your course.
If you’ve had a Student Loan or Student Allowance in the last 12 months, login to MyStudyLink and use the Returning Application to apply in less than five minutes.
